From (french) Meccano to (european) Trilogo: This book is dedicated to Star Wars action figure toys, from the elusive Meccano line, by the French licensee in 1978, to the European Trilogo line that was available until 1986. It features the most extensive coverage ever published about both lines with the whole collections presented for the FIRST time, information, photography and other printed material (retailer / in-pack catalogs, advertisements, sweepstakes, promotional, instruction sheets...); more than 500 illustrated and explained pictures within 144 full color pages. This book is the Reference for Meccano and Trilogo SW vintage toys, and can be enjoyed whether you are a die-hard or casual collector, affiliated or not in the hobby, or simply a Star Wars fan. Word of the Author My interest in Star Wars movies and toys started at the age of six, back in 1978; my last action figure was bought in May 1985. I came back into collecting in 1995 with the new toys and Special Edition releases. I started collecting carded figures randomly regardless of the logo issued on the card and ended up with a disparate collection. So, I decided to set my focus to my favorites, Kenner ESB and European Trilogo lines. As my focus on Trilogos grew, I noticed some particularities to the French Market, and being in this country, also had the opportunity to find many toys from the French licensee Meccano. I came slowly to own a full set of Trilogo carded figures, as well as Meccano and Bilogo ROTJ vehicles/playsets. During all those years I also accumulated quite an exhaustive quantity of toys related materials like retailer catalogs, magazines, in-pack catalogs etc… and I also managed very early to keep track of all the items I had or seen in a photographic database for future reference. As other before me, I noticed that only little information was available about Trilogos and close to none about Meccanos, despite a real demand from collectors, casual or confirmed. Although Kenner toys have been covered extensively in many different books, European items remained undocumented. A book (in English) looked like the best way to share the best amount of information and provide a strong photographic base, all in a single reference. In early 2006, I took upon me to get that work done. I have tried to bring as much information and photography I could find to make this book the most complete possible by covering the toys as well as their associated materials (i.e. ads, catalogs…). I simply hope you will enjoy viewing this book as much as I worked hard doing it.
